Jess is an occupational therapist who is passionate about working in mental health. From early on, she knew that sitting behind a desk in an office wasn’t for her.
As a mental health specific OT, Jess supports people through a range of occupations from grocery shopping and self-care to fishing and soccer. Jess has experience in acute mental health, transitional housing teams, and mental health case management, with specific experience in older persons mental health.
Jess also has experience working with adults with ASD and PDA (pathological demand avoidance). Jess uses a trauma informed approach and incorporates sensory modulation in her sessions to support clients’ emotional regulation and functional capacity. Jess is Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) informed and undertaking additional training in 2023 to work towards DBT credentials.
Jess loves running, finding this the best way to clear her mind. Food is the way to her heart and a good cup of coffee is how she likes to start her day.
